Dali, Want A Cracker?
Are you talking to you ?
The Supernal surrealist artist Salvador Dali was much more than a moutstached face, he would inevitably come to be
a muse for many a medium . In film, his work was commissioned for a hallucinatory dreamscape in the overlooked 1942 gripper "Moontide" for starters. The medium of television would also be no exception
Although the iconoclastic Ernie Kovacs
was so hauntingly orginal and would create something so very unusual for television circa 1952 in his avantgardefest "Kovacs Unlimited" It would be Dali's works that would inspire Ernie and wife Edie to bring this
movement to television. A feat never before accomplished.
Do not attempt this at home, unless you are a genius.
Needless to say, that something of this unique proportion would go underappreciated for many years until the
explosively popular 'Monty Python's Flying Circus" would have
it's own stab at Salvadoring the place up.
Good job its not smell-o-vision
And it is apparent that Yorkshiremen Extraordinaire Reeves and Mortimer would follow suit with their esoteric blend of eccentric comedy
that is all a lovesong to Dali, Kovacs and Monty Python. Welcome to the Surreal World.
Is this a monkey on my shoulder, or am I just happy to see you?
Well Veronica, I suggest you come down to visit me and check out the new Dali` Museum in St. Petersburg. I'm just sayin'.
