The Barris-ter

For this month's car-tharsis segment, I thought I would celebrate the works of the King of the Kustomizers (sic) himself, George Barris. In his eighty-six years on the earth, Mr Barris has been the forerunner of car transformations. His signature cannot be mistaken, you can clearly see the mark of a Barrismobile - like that ever iconic Batman machine - y'know from that certain 1966 television series.

He was far from a neophyte then, his tin surgery procedures started in the 1940s.

And this would be another one of his noted show rods; The Munster Koach

And one of my personal favourites would be this absolutely rollicking Roadster he stylized for one of the
suavest sleuths ever Mr Joe Mannix

And to think, this all started because of his obsession with building 1/25th scale model cars as a youngin!
(another shared obsession of mine)

A true legend that lives and I will always think of him as the King of The Road-ster.
