Garner In Sixty Seconds

This man should garner much more respect than that!

In light of the recent release of James Garner's memoir, quintessentially entitled The Garner Files, and seeing how impervious many media journalists are being by highlighting the darkest aspects of Garner's life, where they should be celebrating the fact that he is one of the most altruistic souls that Hollywood has ever been privy to. I am here to commemorate the lighter, truer  side of our Jimbo

As for the "journos" who quote excerpts of the darker themes, I will say it is  by no means character assassination, since it is the truth, but I feel it is perhaps character reduction you are guilty of , it is evident your scheme is  to enchant potential readers with the promise of a trainwreck. Shame on thee!

Well, don't worry Mr, Garner, I really do get you!

The Oklahoma born octogenarian has been in the industry for more than half a century now. Garner struggled for years with chronic knee pain and surgeries during the filming of the Rockford Files. He was so staunchly dedicated to that series, he even produced it. The physical nature of what his character was subject to, inspired a plethora of health troubles including an ulcer. He would still troop on and still perfom his own stunts on the series.

Several actresses that have worked with Garner on the series recounted the positive experiences of co-starring on The Rockford Files. The sultry  Stefanie Powers remembers him as  being the loveliest actor she ever had the honour of working with, she even mused about how easy it would be to fall in love with him.

The apple doesn't fall far from the celluloid tree. There have been many accounts of how genteel and Texas-size hearted this man is. If you plan on purchasing The Garner Files, do it for the sake that Garner was just the swellest and sweetest sleuth that drove a 74' Firebird.
