Keach Your Children Well
Great character actors, sometimes suffer from the always a bridesmaid syndrome. And Stacy Keach is no exception to that rule, with the exception of his chilling lead performance as John Felder in 1972' The New Centurions, he has pretty much been on the backburner. A travesty really.
And although I fancy myself a purist, and would otherwise pooh-pooh the mere notion that someone could revive Darren McGavin's Mike Hammer. I actually liked a certain 1983 bang of a silver Mike Hammer, when Keach brought it on home Sam Cooke style.
Stacy, makes it look easy, with his laissez-faire comfortable dialed in performances. There is an unwavering truth in his acting. The consummate trickster - he will leave you convinced every time. One minute he's Doc Holliday, and the next the sardonic Sgt Sedenko in Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke
How Tweed It is...
And how can you not love him for his participation with a Sicilian speaking Roger Moore in the completely unremembered The Sicilian Cross from 1976
